Kenneth Bush has been a speaker at P.R.I.M.A.-sponsored seminar on introduction to risk management. The public entity seminar was sponsored by the Michigan Bar Association. Several banking and manufacturing seminars were also sponsored by area certified public accounting firms. His article on the “captive pool” concept was published by I.R.M.I. Ken is also licensed to provide consulting services in five states.
Ken Bush began his career in risk management by becoming the first risk and insurance manager for the County of Kent, Grand Rapids, Michigan. He managed programs that included a jail, two hospital facilities, the second busiest commercial airport in Michigan, and other general governmental functions. He joined Insurance Audit & Inspection Company of Indianapolis, IN as a staff consultant to gain more recognition and exposure after establishing the County's first self-insurance program.
Kenneth continues to work on a number of projects for various public entities, and is actively involved in the "captive pool" program that allows a governmental entity to take advantage of the applicable pooling law. Along with this, he also works on programs of other clients, including a number with property values of over $1 billion.
